Visualizing your data in different ways can help you understand it better, uncover patterns and trends and communicate your results more clearly and efficiently.
Most Prospection reports are pre-configured to present your data in the most appropriate visualisation type, however some reports have a chart visualisation type feature which allows you to select your preferred chart type.
Three visualisation types are available in Prospection platform:
Data visualisation options are available in the following reports:
Report | Line chart | Bar chart | Map |
---|---|---|---|
Patients on Treatment | Y | Y | Y |
Patient Dynamics | Y | Y |
Use the visualisation type toggler to select your preferred data visualisation mode.
Line chart
The line chart is a familiar method for displaying data, connecting several distinct data points, presenting them as one continuous evolution. It provides a simple, straightforward way to visualise changes in one value relative to another, and view trends in data over time (or by other ordinal data dimensions). Most of the reports in Prospection platform are pre-configured to display as line charts.
Bar chart
Bar charts quickly highlight differences between categories, show trends and outliers, and reveal historical highs and lows at a glance. Bar charts are especially effective when you have data that can be split into multiple categories (e.g. age, gender, location).
You can modify the chart by selecting the base data (Primary breakdown, or x-axis) and the variables you want to view the data by, like age, sex or location (the Secondary breakdown) and then select the bar chart visualisation type.
Map
The map provides geographic data visualisation, a simple and compelling way to show how location correlates with trends in your data.
The map visualisation option is only enabled when the primary breakdown filter is set to a geospatial value. Geospatial values include administrative boundaries (Australia and USA: State, Japan: Region, Sub-Region or Prefecture) or Sales Region/District/Territories (only available in the USA if sales territories have been configured for your dashboard).
Once a geospatial value for the primary breakdown has been selected the map visualisation type will become available in the visualisation type toggler.
Once you have selected the map visualisation type you can configure the view of your data further by changing the data metrics.
Note:
- Secondary breakdown values are not currently displayed in the map visualisation.
- Map visualisation is currently not available in New Zealand.
